Dichloroacetate Effective Against Aggressive Brain Cancer

Great article about results of a study conducted on a drug which had previously been found to be effective against several types of cancers. The drug couldn't go to human trials, however, as it is a generic drug, and pharmaceutical companies were not interested in a drug from they could not make money.

Money for human drug trials were raised by the public, obtained from the university involved, and came also from government funding. The money raised was only enough to perform clinical trials with 5 patients, but the results should definitely assist in raising more funding.

Awesome article I think, and if you're interested in the study of cancer, genetics, microbiology etc, you will find this a great read.

Thanks Stack - most interesting indeed. I see this has been reported in the Edmonton Journal as well.

Talking about Cancer there's another article about driving, Surprising Skin Cancer Risk: Too Much Driving.

It seems the glass used in cars is not enough protection.

Wow. And they're seriously advising drivers to wear sunscreen. My right arm usually gets a lot more sun than my left on sunny days. I think they still have to do more research obviously but its quite thought provoking.
