Having just joined this forum I am having a few difficulties. I seem to have started a new topic. Ten years ago when living in the UK I found the seti@home program on a Berkeley University site.I decoded packages for many years using four very old computers that ran 24/7. The program ran very well on 386`s at the time but were upgraded to 486 using windows3.0 and then Win 95 & win 98.
I am now running a Toshiba Satollite Pro with Vista and a packard Bell with Win7, both have dual proccessers and are much faster than the ones left behind.
I sudenly realised that i hadn`t tried this program out for some years, so downloaded it. I then found a link to this forum as there appears to be quit a few like minded people in South Africa.
Are there any people in Plett belonging to the team. Maybe someone can tell me about the other programs that are being run. Also has anyone experimented with radio waves using an old DSTV antenna. Some satelites use the same frequency as WiFi so can be picked up using a dongle in the disc focus.

If you have a look at the Choose Projects link, I would suggest then looking at some of the more serious projects such as those who have published their results, here. Of course, this depends on what takes your interest.

You will note from my signature below that I have tried a whole host of different projects.

Regarding Plett, I am not sure. There may well be some readers who are from that neck of the woods.

I must admit that the linking to satellites has not been an interest of mine!
