Hi,

We finally have a new GPU project again and this one supports both ATI and NVidia cards. DCETC@HOME provides a wrapper between BOINC and projects support by distributed.net (e.g. OGR and RC5)

At this early stage it looks like they are attempting to pay somewhere between the Milkyway and Collatz projects, but it already looks to be heading more in the direction of Milkyway. ATI are defintely paying more than NVdia at the moment, mainly because there is a performance issue with CUDA. I am believe that this may get a bit better with the CUDA app V1.14.

Definitely Alpha status at the moment, so expect issues, real early days at present. Project team still getting into the swing of BOINC so some patience and babysitting might be required.

Please could I kindly ask one of our team admin's to create a team page for the project.

This is a very interesting development. I've been crunching distributed.net on and off since October 1999. I started with RC5-64, but you do not see my stats on my signature due to the vagaries of the way Free-DC works.

Sadly, my GPU capabilities are all but non-existent, so I'll be a spectator member of the team.

For those of you with GPU capability, it's worth a try.

The BOINC project has given a massive boost to the RC5-72 project. Dnetc@home is registered as one user on the project and has already rocketed to 2nd place overall (out of 80769 users). The expected remaining duration of the project has been slashed from over 600 years to "only" 193 years!
