Warped - 2,000,000 milestone

Postby Neil Store on Thu Oct 29, 2009 12:26 pm

Hi Warped,

Congratulations on passing the 2,000,000 total credits milestone ... Well done!

I see your RAC has been steadily increasing the last few weeks ... particularly with PrimeGrid. So is that due to some new hardware you have? Any plans to join the GPU crew ... I will be watching my back then.

Cheers,
Neil.

Thanks Neil.

On the hardware front, yes, I have swopped my old E6600 Dual Core CPU for a Q9550 Quad. But, more importantly, have been running Sieve work on 64-bit Operating System via non-BOINC applications which are then manually credited. It order to attract members with the appropriate equipment, very generous credit rates are being awarded temporarily at PrimeGrid.

I have a low-end GPU which poses no threat to you guys on GPU Grid and Milkyway. So my rate of credit will likely fall away quite dramatically and you'll continue to streak ahead. :D

Well long may the Sieve workunits continue ... that way it looks like you are going to take PrimeGrid into the 1M group of projects for the team and you also may stand a good chance of taking 1st position in the country stats for the project.

You may also be able to drag the team back into the top 100 RAC if you continue to crank out 25k+ a day for a week or two.

Well done and keep up the crunching.

Cheers,
Neil.
