Here's an amusing story about a website, at an unnamed public universty, that became unavailable when someone removed the server the site was hosted on. The server - an XBox variant - had been suggested several years earlier by an admin who was a Linux enthusiast and management - eager to save money - had agreed to fund the server.

Then recently the new department manager, thinking the webserver was an gaming console used by the IT department, took it home for his son to play with...
