Using (human) body heat to heat buildings

Postby stackoverflow » Tue Jan 11, 2011 9:34 pm

The BBC is running this story on their site about how the heat from the bodies of people commuting through Stockholm's central station is being used to warm buildings at the station. I'm quite impressed by the percentage of energy they save, 25%.

The story doesn't include much technical information but I thought the concept was worth mentioning nonetheless. If nothing else, perhaps it will interest encourage you to do further reading on the subject.
