WCG Sub-Projects

Postby Warped » Mon Aug 23, 2010 9:30 pm

The list of WCG sub-projects continues to grow.

The latest addition is Computing for Clean Water.

It joins the following list of active projects:
The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2
Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2
Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2
Help Fight Childhood Cancer
Help Conquer Cancer
Human Proteome Folding - Phase 2
FightAIDS@Home
Beta Testing.

They have varying amounts of work available, with some quite difficult to get.

The Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 (DDDT2) work has recently become much more plentiful.

In addition, I understand some Beta Testing will be run next week. It seems to be for the Windows version of The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 (CEP2).

Keep on Crunching.

The Drug Search for Leishmaniasis project has just been launched on WCG.

Has anyone crunched these work units yet?

Hi Warped,

I have had a few over the last fews days and they are taking between 5 to 6 hours. Currently sharing between 'Drug Search for Leishmaniasis' and ' The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2' which is taking a very long time ...

Cheers,
Neil.

Targets 7 and 8 went right up to about 12 hours each and subsequently targets are averaging about 5 hours. I have scaled back on this work since getting a badge, but will continue to run them.

Neil, the CEP2 checkpointing is at best described as eccentric. The large uploads bring my entire router to a grinding halt as well, so in order to run them, I need to do a bit of micro-managing of the system.
